About the Author
Robert J. Schneller, Jr., is a historian in the Contemporary History Branch of the U.S. Naval Historical Center. He is the author of two Military Profiles, Farragut and Cushing. He lives in Lake Ridge, Virginia. Robert M. Browning, Jr., is the chief historian of the U.S. Coast Guard and the author of Success Is All That Was Expected (Brassey's, Inc., 2002). He lives in Dumfries, Virginia. Richard A. Sauers has written numerous books on the Civil War, including The Meade-Sickles Controversy (Brassey's, Inc., 2003). He lives in Milton, Pennsylvania. John M. Taylor is the author of numerous works of history, including Duty Faithfully Performed: Robert E. Lee and His Critics (Brassey's, Inc., 1999). He lives in McLean, Virginia.
